Day 105

Dear Daddy,

This morning was another 6:30 morning, which, of course, wanted to make mommy cry. We got up, I ate, and while mommy ate breakfast you read me stories.

Isn't it crazy how high up I can reach now? Actually, later in the day, I grabbed the base to the phone in one fell swoop.
Most of the day I was preoccupied with the tag and the velcro strip that is on the side of my tunnel thing. I played with it, ate it, and played with it some more.
Last day of green beans meant last day of vegetables!
We went on a walk after my "nap"... I actually let mommy put my sunglasses on!
Mommy was afraid I'd lose my sunglasses so she took them off, and then I decided to take my hat off and chew on it. Then I fell asleep.
After we got home, I was back to my project...
I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.

Day 104

Dear Daddy,

Here are today's pictures.

Mommy has to put my chair away because as of this moment, I can sit up in it. Good thing she was sitting in the dining room and saw me doing this.
I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.

Day 103

Dear Daddy,

This morning was another early morning... I'm backing it up earlier and earlier-it's getting to be toward 6:30 now.

This morning mommy and I got a package-it was my daddy doll! It was a nice surprise because we weren't expecting it for another couple of weeks. I love it!
Today I started green beans. I LOVE them more than any other vegetable... I ate the whole bowl! All of the other vegetables I only eat half the bowl (about an ounce).
first bite
We went to my 6 month check-up, and I did really well. I am 16lbs 7oz and 26 1/2 inches. The doctor said that object permanence has almost sunk in with me-so the next step is stranger anxiety. Mommy is soooo excited for that to start! I had my shots, and mommy was sad because I was a bleeder. I did pretty good though... nothing was as bad as that very first time. Thank goodness you were there for that. We walked around the hospital a little bit, since we have to wait and make sure I didn't have a reaction, and then I got hungry so after I ate we left.

Today I tried water for the first time. I seemed to like it pretty well. Mommy would much rather I learned to use a sippy with water in it rather than sticky apple prune juice!
I was surprisingly good tonight for having had my shots. I was VERY talkative and just wanted to play... so mommy and I just played and played and played and had fun together.

Lots of things are different now-I can have Motrin, I can wear sunblock-mommy went and got me some today, so now I can be in the sun without mommy wrapping me up like a little mummy. She'll still be obsessed, but not AS bad. SPF 55 just doesn't seem like it would be enough... but it'll have to do. Like you saw, I can start having a little bit of water. I'm all clear as far as food goes, but mommy wouldn't have cared if they would have been mad at her anyway.

I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.

Day 102

Dear Daddy,

Can you believe I let mommy sleep in until almost 8:00 this morning? But as a trade-off, I woke her up with the sounds of me pushing out a nice stinky poopoo. Yeah, it was a pleasant thing for me to wake up to too.

I apparently have started to take mommy's threats to mail me to you seriously... because today I scooted myself over to the boxes we picked up at the post office. They were really fun to play on. I think I'd fit nicely.
I wore a new dress to church today... aren't I SO pretty?! And... the tongue has made its triumphant return!
I discovered that mommy has a camera, and I want it.
Practicing my juice again...
Mommy and I having a little fun
Try as we might to make a routine, it's still not the same without you. We miss you a lot.

I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.
Love, Maya
