Day 136

Dear Daddy,

Hopefully tonight was the last of the rough nights... mommy and I both hope so. This is how I was sleeping when mommy got up this morning:

Here I am waving at something, as usual...
Then we went to the beach! This was my first real trip of course-the times before we just went to see the water, and I just got my feet wet. First thing I had to do was investigate the sand... I loved it! Surprisingly, I never tried to put a handful in my mouth, either!
This is as close as I could get to the water before I freaked out. By the time the waves were washing up on me, I was very scared and didn't like it at all...Mommy kept trying, but it was no good. So she held me, and I was content to just hold on to her and watch. We will keep trying, because I think mommy is determined for me to love the ocean just as much as she does!
Right after all of those pictures were taken, we got rained on. BIG drops started to come down, and so we all hurried to the cars... but didn't quite make it. It was a big, sandy, baby powder covered mess trying to get Emily and I cleaned off and out of our swimsuits (and of course I poopood in my water diaper) but we somehow managed to get into our vehicles before the big pouring rain REALLY hit. We went to Panera, since we were close, and boy were we a wreck!
Mommy and I got an interesting nap in (she will tell you about that), and after we got home and showered and I had a bath we felt so much better. We just hung out all night-I was tired and my mouth hurts, so all I wanted to do was play and cuddle... it didn't take too awfully much to get me to go to sleep tonight. Here I am in my new jammies... they are a little big on me (you can't tell... but they are really long) but I will grow into them!
Mommy realized WHY the prayer shawl Miss Brenda knitted for me had been pulled on by me the last few nights... mommy thinks I am trying to get to my bear in the morning when I am in playing! Usually the bear sits on top of it... but mommy moved the shawl over a little bit so my little fingers couldn't grab it tomorrow morning.
I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.
Love, Maya
