Day 60

Dear Daddy,

Last night mommy's intuition was right apparently. She thought something wasn't quite right with me-and sure enough, when I woke up this morning, after 11 hours of (mostly) sleep, my diaper was only as wet as it usually is after just a couple of hours. So she called the advice nurse, and the advice nurse said to head in. So we packed everything up and headed to the Naval Hospital... (I wasn't too enthusiastic about it)

When we got there, we checked in and the triage nurses took us back right away. I had them laughing so hard because I was sticking my tongue out at them, and it was bright pink from the amoxicillin I had had an hour before. Everyone was so so amused! They loved me and told me I was so pretty that I should be in commercials.

Then mommy and I had to wait in the waiting room for just a little while. I discovered that mommy had strings on her jacket and that kept me busy for awhile.
It didn't take long to get back to a room.
It didn't take long after that, either, for the nurse to come in and see me and then the doctor. When the doctor got out the stethoscope to listen to my heart and lungs guess what I did? Gave him the poop face. Mommy is so talented she cleaned up that mess of a diaper with only TWO wipes!! (she had forgotten to refill the container before we left)

Then I had to go get an X-Ray. While mommy and I were walking to get it done, she reminded me that this is like what Jenny had to get done in the book you read me in your video, daddy. So I wasn't scared because you said it was ok.

I was a really good girl and had two pictures taken-one from the front and one from the side. When we were waiting to be taken back to our room, I threw up pink amoxicillin all over mommy and I... so we smelled awful and it was bright pink. Thankfully mommy had extra jammies in my bag for me, but she was just without a jacket for awhile.

Then I snoozed for a bit.
The doctor came back in and told mommy that I have pneumonia in my right lower lung. That made mommy really sad... so we got and signed paperwork, went downstairs and got my new medicine, and went home.

When we got home it was, unfortunately, time to try my nebulizer. I cried before mommy even got it out of the package.
She thinks this is the most heartbreaking picture ever.
But I was fine and happy minutes later!
After this I took a MONSTER 2 1/2 hour nap. Mommy got SO much stuff done... she had no idea what to do with herself! She even had to check on me a couple of times to make sure I was ok.

Later on after I woke up, I played in my jumperoo for a bit. Guess what? I learned how to spin my red/orange and yellow ball!
Tonight mommy tried me the other way-the sitting up way-in the bath. I wasn't too sure what I thought of it at first and just sat there frozen.
I didn't like it too much, honestly... so mommy turned me back around the other way.

Look how much I love watching the Simpsons! Right before this picture, right before mommy turned it on, I was being a fuss-butt.
Mommy and I cuddled for a bit, and then she put me to bed in my pack and play. She wants to be able to listen to me tonight. She knows I'll be just fine, but she loves having me close when I am sick. Plus, she won't have to keep running back and forth in the morning when I come unplugged like I have been doing the past couple of mornings!
Hopefully tomorrow I'll start feeling better... it's going on two weeks that I've been feeling icky. Keep praying for my little self.

I can't wait till you are home and can hold me tight when I am sick.

I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.
Love, Maya
