Day 186

Dear Daddy,

Today I slept in later than I've ever slept before... so late that mommy won't even tell you what time it was because it will make us seem REALLY lazy. All we'll say is apparently we needed the sleep (well and mommy's was partially medicine-induced).

We had an interesting morning. Mommy felt a little better but still stuck me in my pack & play so she could get a few things done without having to chase me around. I had an awful diaper explosion-all over my hand, face, legs-she got a picture of it but it's too gross to put on here. When she picked me up to go change me, the poopoo left a pool in the pack & play. And of course she didn't have the pad or sheet on it since she felt so awful yesterday... so... uh oh.

We had to go to the store after that to get me some food... surprisingly, we were out (there were about 3 or 4 containers left... but that would have only held me over till tomorrow!) ...we got a lot of different things, like avocado and bananas and zucchini that I will eat fresh, but mommy got carrots, peas, and green beans to steam and cut up (no more purees!) and stuff to make cinnamon applesauce and a blueberry-peach-mango mixture. It was enough to make 38 servings of vegetables and 29 servings of fruit-that'll last a few weeks!

This is me after devouring my biter biscuit today... it always crusts all over me, but I love it so much that mommy just deals with the mess.

You can't really tell... but it's crusted all over my tray too.
Then something very funny happened. It was so crusted on that I was throwing a fit getting it washed off by baby wipes... so mommy sat me down on the bathroom counter and stuck my feet in the sink so she could wash off my arms, legs, and face. Well I took it upon myself to want an entire bath, so I slid my bottom right down into the sink (and was thrilled about it). Mommy was laughing so hard at me and since she was actually getting the stuff off, she just went with it... so when she turned the water off mommy was talking to me in the mirror and I grinned and started shivering! Since she wasn't expecting me to get crazy wet she wasn't prepared... but thankfully her pool towel was hanging up behind her so she just grabbed that to wrap me up in. She told me how silly I was and I thought it was so funny... and the interesting thing is that when mommy went to change my diaper and get me dressed my diaper was completely fine-they must be water resistant on the outside to a certain extent.
For dinner I had chicken, sweet potatoes, and cottage cheese!
This evening we played, I had a bath, we locked up the pools and then after I drank my bottle I went to bed-a pretty typical night.

We hope you are having fun in Qatar and that you get to talk to us soon! Buy me some cool things while you are there.

I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.
Love, Maya

(PS-this is what I do when I see Evie. I scream like this. A lot. And it's pretty hysterical.)
