Day 188

Dear Daddy,

Today I got up earlier than normal... not TOO early, especially since we had to get up for mommy's appointment anyway, but early enough that I drank my bottle in bed with mommy. I didn't want to snooze any more though, which mommy was kind of sad about, but oh well. I got up and played a lot, and then at 10 I was whining to go night-night and so mommy said fine, put me down, and I was out! So she hurried and got ready while she could without trying to chase me around and then had to actually wake me up so we could go to mommy's appointment.

When we got back home, mommy put me right back to bed because I was so cranky... and I slept for almost three hours!

Then I got up, had some avocado, drank a bottle... and then look what I did! Eww!
Then I got to talk to you! I was so glad, because I had been asking for you for a few days now.

Guess what I did after that? I did a little trick! I am getting brave when it comes to climbing... mommy really needs to put that bookshelf together so it stops giving me a little stepladder. I climbed into the papasan and decided that I wanted to play with the lamp.
Dinner tonight was boring, mommy excluded my chicken to test out how I do with and without egg. But-excitingly-I tried my big girl baby food tonight. The other day mommy steamed some veggies for me (peas, green beans, and crinkle-cut carrots) and in a labor of love and to save time later, cut the carrots and green beans and put them in my little containers so they'd be all ready to go. It was a pain then, but makes mealtime so easy now! When she pulled them out (after they had been thawing all day in the fridge) they were so nice and soft, and I loved them! Here are the carrots I had today... only three left before mommy remembered to take a picture, and then I ate them all!
The rest of the night, however, was a big, slow meltdown.
We went to see Zacorro and his mommy while they were here visiting... we got ice cream (well everyone did but me... mean mommy) and I was quietly stewing most of the time, after my freakout at home and in the car...
But when we were done and went outside to talk I was being a grouch. Mommy went so far as to give me her keys... which she never does. But my mouth hurts, so that gives me a little leeway.
When we got home mommy held me close while I drank my bottle, because my gums were hurting so bad that it hurt to drink my bottle. It took me awhile to drink it because I kept falling asleep... it was just a rough time. I went to sleep so late, after mommy put me to bed I talked and fussed for awhile. It'll be interesting to see how late I sleep tomorrow morning. It's my last night as an 8 month old... so of course it has to go out with a bang!

We'll make sure to get good teddy bear pictures tomorrow, and we'll get as good of a 9 month video as we can get. I'll show you how I can climb... you'll have to tell us what else you want to see.

I love you, daddy, and I can't wait to see you.
Love, Maya
